Des Nedhe in Community

As part of the Des Nedhe Community engagement effort, representatives from Tron, Creative Fire, Aurora Renewables, JNE Welding and Des Nedhe Management spent 2 days in the English River First Nation Communities of La Plonge, and Patuanak on April 16 & 17.  Chief Alfred Dawatsare, and council members dropped in to support the open house in both Communities.  ERFN Elder Isidore Campbell provided opening prayer in La Plonge and Elder Margaret McIntyre providing opening prayer in Patuanak.  St. Louis school students Grades 10-12 took time to drop in to speak with the various managers and staff at the open houses.  Des Nedhe provided door prizes and various swag items for community members.  The team fielded questions from students regarding projects and types of employment opportunities that would be advertised in the future.  Despite the weather (new snow fall) there were 40-50 individuals that attended. Des Nedhe and affiliated companies will be hosting additional open house sessions in Community in the future.  We continue to look forward to presenting the businesses that have been developed by an idea started in the early 1990’s by ERFN leadership.
