Helen Bobiwash

Director

Helen Bobiwash, FCPA, GCB.D, CCB.D, ICD.D, is Anishinabe kwe from the Thessalon First Nation in Northern Ontario.  With an accounting career spanning 33 years, Helen is an expert in financial stewardship and accountability.  She has provided independent accounting services to First Nations and Indigenous organizations across Ontario.  Her services have reached First Nation administrations, economic development corporations, community-based health services, education self-government, and child welfare agencies. She is the first Indigenous woman to be recognized as a Fellow of CPA Ontario for her contribution to the accounting profession and her communities.

Helen is an experienced corporate director.  She contributes her Indigenous teachings and western perspectives about money in the governance of financial reporting, audit, risk management and strategic planning. She is currently a Board Director for the First Nations Financial Management Board and the Building Ontario Fund.  She is also a member of the Public Sector Accounting Board and an Investment Committee Member for the Indigenous Growth Fund and Building Ontario Fund.
