For two decades, Alfred Dawatsare has seen immense and positive change for his community of English River First Nation (ERFN). 

Originally from Patunak, Mr. Dawatsare has played a pivotal role in its transformation, with 20 years of experience on ERFN council, including two terms as Chief. 

Mr. Dawatsare’s first responsibility on council was the economic development portfolio; under his leadership, Des Nedhe Development was formed in 1991. From a base of minimal resources and capital at the onset, Des Nedhe has grown into a profitable company with a significant and diverse portfolio of businesses in construction, property development, retail and more.
