Indigenous Veterans Day

Today, on Indigenous Veterans Day, Des Nedhe Group stands in honour and remembrance of the thousands of Indigenous Peoples who have bravely served in Canada’s military. Indigenous soldiers, from the First and Second World Wars to present-day missions, have brought unmatched courage and resilience to the defense of our country. These heroes have protected the freedoms we enjoy, often facing unique challenges upon returning home.

As we reflect on their sacrifice, we at Des Nedhe are reminded of the deep connection between service, Community, and heritage. Today, we honour their legacy and acknowledge the impact of their bravery, remembering that the freedom we enjoy was hard-won through their dedication and sacrifice.
