Chief Alfred Dawatzare

For three decades, Chief Alfred Dawatzare has seen immense and positive change for his Community of English River First Nation (ERFN). 

Originally from Patunak, Chief Dawatzare has played a pivotal role in its transformation, with over 30 years of experience on ERFN council, including three terms as Chief of English River First Nation. 

Mr. Dawatzare’s first responsibility on council was the economic development portfolio; under his leadership, Des Nedhe Development was formed in 1991. From a base of minimal resources and capital at the onset, Des Nedhe has grown into a profitable company with a significant and diverse portfolio of businesses in construction, property development, retail and more.
